- Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends and new technologies in rubber and polymer science.
- Develop strategic research plans to enhance product performance, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Product Development:
- Oversee the formulation and testing of new rubber and polymer products.
- Ensure successful scale-up of new materials from lab to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and marketing, to align product development with customer needs and market demands.
- Conduct failure analysis and implement product improvements.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize material properties, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges related to production.
- Testing and Quality Control:
- Oversee the development and validation of testing methods for rubber and polymer materials.
- Ensure that all products meet industry standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to source new raw materials and stay updated on material advancements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into innovative solutions.
- Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated to meet project goals.
- Ensure efficient use of laboratory and equipment resources.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in polymer chemistry, rubber formulation, and elastomer technologies
- In-depth knowledge of polymer compounding, rubber processing, and material testing.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, ASTM, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis, simulation software, and other relevant tools (e.g., Minitab, MATLAB, etc.).
- Leadership and Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and innovation mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
