- Culture & Community: Act as a strong, charismatic leader to build and maintain a cohesive and high-performing culture for our ~450 employees in India, ensuring it is aligned with Zuora's global values and vision.
- Brand Ambassador: Serve as Zuora's public face and brand ambassador in India, with the responsibility to build our brand, attract top talent, and enhance our presence within the local technology ecosystem.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Provide cross-functional leadership and support to all teams in India, fostering collaboration and alignment across various departments beyond Product & Technology.
- Strategic Voice: Represent the India organization to senior leadership globally, ensuring local perspectives and needs are understood and integrated into company-wide strategy.
- Team Management: Directly lead and manage Data Platform Engineering team in India, with accountability for their execution, quality, and performance.
- Talent Strategy: Be responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining a talented and experienced employee base. Build a strong, resilient organization that can scale efficiently.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide strong technical mentoring and virtual leadership for Engineering leaders, serving as a role model and executive resource to drive technical excellence and professional growth.
- Innovation & Efficiency: Drive a culture of innovation and efficiency within the engineering teams, ensuring they are well-aligned with our next-gen strategy and capable of delivering with speed and quality.
- Technical Depth in Data Platform:
- Expertise in data warehouse strategy and architecture
- Ability to design and manage data ingestion and pipeline; Experience in managing data latency & freshness, data consistency & integrity
- Proven experience scaling and optimizing large data platforms for performance and cost efficiency
- Experience building data platforms that enable advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases.
- Executive Leadership: Proven experience as a senior technology leader for a multinational company (e.g., VP of Engineering, CTO, or similar role) with a strong track record of managing large, diverse engineering teams.
- Cultural Acumen: A charismatic leader who excels at building a strong, cohesive culture and inspiring teams in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to translate a high-level company vision into actionable plans and drive execution in a complex organization.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Global Experience: Experience working with and leading distributed teams across multiple time zones, with a readiness for frequent travel to the Bay Area (1-2 times per quarter).
- India Market Expertise: Strong understanding of the technology landscape in India, with a network to support brand building and talent acquisition.
