Run what runs the world.This Position reports to: Senior Engineering ManagerThe work model for the role is: #LI - Hybrid.This role is contributing to Process Automation for Energy Industries in INOPC, ABB, Bangalore.You will be mainly accountable for:

Act as the Technical Authority / Subject Matter Expert for Steam Turbine automation solutions within the Power Generation business.
Lead the development and enhancement of the automation solution portfolio, focusing on innovative and technically robust offerings.
Support the sales team by providing technical advisory during the proposal phase, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
Prepare and present automation solutions for Steam Turbine applications to customers across the Americas region.
Collaborate with a technical hub of engineers to draft, refine, and validate technical solution documents and proposals.
Engage in complex engineering challenges, applying a solution-oriented mindset to deliver high-impact results.
Ensure technical excellence and customer satisfaction, contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the Power Generation Automation segment.

Qualifications for the role

10-15 Yrs of experience
Steam Turbine Experience Hands-on experience executing control engineering projects with Steam Turbine OEM systems and strong process knowledge of power plants.
Control Systems & Instrumentation Solid understanding of control system architecture, control philosophy, and field instrumentation (sensors, transducers, drives for pressure, flow, temperature, etc.).
Automation Platforms & Communication Protocols Proficiency in ABB DCS systems (Sym-phony Plus or 800xA), including configuration, engineering, and commissioning; knowledge of protocols like Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850.
IT & Software Skills Familiarity with Windows OS (7/XP, Server 2003/2008), MS Office applications, PC configuration, and basic network engineering.
Team Leadership & Project Management Experience in developing engineering teams, re-source planning, scheduling, and project reporting within steam turbine automation.
Willingness to Travel Open to international travel based on project and sales support requirements.
Communication & Personality Strong interpersonal skills—confident, communicative, flexible, self-driven, and fluent in spoken and written English.
Graduation in B.E./B. Tech. (Electronics/Control and instrumentation).
