This role is for one of the Weekday's clientsMin Experience: 6 yearsLocation: Remote (India), anywhereJobType: full-timeWe are looking for a Head of Finance & Operations to lead and expand the financial and operational foundation of our company. This position oversees the entire finance function—from transaction processing to strategic financial planning—while also maintaining strong operational discipline across inventory management, compliance, and internal systems.This is a hands-on leadership role suited for an individual who can effectively handle both controller responsibilities and strategic finance tasks, combined with keen operational insights.RequirementsCore Responsibilities1. Accounting & Financial Operations

Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes end-to-end
Ensure prompt invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and accurate cash application
Maintain a precise and well-organized general ledger
Lead the monthly close process, including reconciliations and financial reporting
Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal control procedures
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals as necessary

2. Payroll, T&E, and Compliance

Oversee payroll processing and the related reporting functions
Administer Travel & Expense (T&E) policies, systems, and approval workflows
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Manage sales tax, income tax coordination, and regulatory filings
Implement scalable compliance processes to support company growth

3. Inventory & Operational Finance

Take ownership of inventory from both a financial and systems perspective
Ensure accurate accounting of inventory including COGS, valuation, and reserves
Collaborate with operations on:

Inventory planning and turnover
Shrinkage and write-offs
Optimization of working capital
Develop reporting focused on inventory efficiency, margins, and cash conversion

4. FP&A / Strategic Finance

Create and maintain financial models and forecasts
Manage budgeting and reforecasting processes
Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports and variance analyses
Provide insights on:

Unit economics
Contribution margins
Cash flow and runway
Support leadership with decision-making, scenario analyses, and capital allocation

5. Systems & Process Development

Manage the finance technology stack, including ERP, billing, payroll, and expense systems
Drive automation initiatives across accounting and reporting workflows
Design scalable processes that minimize manual work and errors
Maintain data integrity throughout finance and operations systems

Qualifications

6–12+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations roles
Proven experience managing comprehensive finance functions (AR/AP through close and FP&A)
Strong expertise in inventory accounting and operational finance
Demonstrated ability to develop models and generate business insights
Experience in eCommerce, inventory-intensive, or multi-channel businesses is preferred
CPA certification or equivalent experience is a plus but not mandatory
Detail-oriented, systems-focused thinker
