Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and AI development, along with experience building and deploying production-level models.
  • Experience in working with distributed teams across multiple time zones, fostering strong communication, collaboration, and a sense of shared purpose even in a remote work environment.

We build the foundational technology that powers seamless, intelligent, and proactive user experiences across Platforms and Devices (P&D). The Aura program is our primary vehicle for achieving this mission by building AI capabilities and core building blocks for on-device and ambient technologies.Data and Evals Team Build a data ecosystem and comprehensive evaluation framework to support high-quality, fair, and reliable AI systems, while ensuring user privacy and trust. Drive evaluations across all P&D use cases and standard upstreaming processes to Gemini models.The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Responsibilities
  • Work on Data and Evaluation related areas that are foundational for Aura. Build ML driven evaluations for AI systems (on-device, server based, private compute and Hybrid) and critical user journeys, designed to be adaptable across various applications across P&D.
  • Build infrastructure and tooling needed to support evaluations across P&D and drive visibility on performance at an executive level.
  • Build ML-based Auto raters for easy creation, execution scaling and evaluation.
  • Improve the scope and quality of datasets and Upstream new datasets and evaluations to Gemini OneRecipe. Leverage Software Engineering Agents to create agentic flows that automate evaluation creation.
  • Grow and manage a high performance team and be responsible for their growth.
