Job Title : HEAD - MINE PLANNING (SR. GM/AVP/VP LEVEL)Location : Flexible (To be discussed with Candidates directly with Location wise open mindset)Reporting To : Managing DirectorDepartment : Mine Planning & Technical ServicesIndustry : Mining & Earthmoving (Multi-commodity Operations)Qualifications & Experience :- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mine planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.- Proficiency in mine planning software such as Surpac, MineSched, or similar tools.- Strong understanding of mining operations, geological modelling, and resource estimation.- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-site mining operations and coordinating with cross-functional teams.Role Overview:- The Head of Mine Planning will spearhead the strategic and operational mine planning functions across all Companies different mining projects.- This pivotal role involves direct reporting to the MD and requires the consolidation and presentation of comprehensive reports on all mining operations ( Coal and Metals opencast workings).- The incumbent will ensure that all mine planning activities are optimized for efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Operational Planning:- Develop and oversee the implementation of long-term and short-term mine plans which includes Mine production, and Dispatch of Ore, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.- Review the projects on monthly plan and report the variance to Management.- Review of the project on statutory compliance ( macro level) and summary may be submitted to Management.- Coordinate with geology, engineering, and operations teams to integrate geological data into mine designs for both open-pit and underground operations.- Utilize advanced mine planning software ( Surpac, Minex and Vulcon etc) to create detailed and accurate mine designs and schedules.- Regularly assess and mine plans to accommodate changing conditions and improve productivity.Reporting & Communication:- Prepare and present detailed reports on mine planning activities, production forecasts, and performance metrics to the MD.- Ensure timely communication of planning updates and changes to relevant stakeholders across all mining sites.Regulatory Compliance & Safety:- Ensure all mine plans comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and ensure compliance with environmental laws.Team Leadership & Development :- Lead and mentor the mine planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.- Collaborate with HR to identify training needs and implement development programs for team members.Technology & Innovation :- Stay abreast of advancements in mine planning technologies and methodologies.- Evaluate and implement new tools and processes to enhance planning efficiency and accuracy.
