This team leads with impact—driving engineering ownership for product architecture, front-end UI applications and AI systems to meet complex business needs. With an inclusive culture that embraces a flexible work environment, we foster a spirit of collaboration fueled by boldness, curiosity and commitment that empowers us all to win together.As Director if Software Engineering, you will oversee multiple engineering functions and provide strategic leadership for high-performance, high-availability product suites. You will manage through subordinate leaders, taking full HR and budget responsibility while navigating constraints to deliver technical excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who combines deep technical expertise in modern front-end stacks with the ability to think strategically and inspire the commitment of others towards the vision of Sabre.In this role, you will be responsible for delivering several key business and technical outcomes. You will drive the successful modernization of our technology stack by migrating legacy UI systems to modern frameworks, ensuring increased system performance and scalability. You will accelerate innovation by successfully embedding AI and LLM-enabled capabilities into our front-end products, creating more intuitive and conversational user experiences, ultimately enhancing the value delivered to our global travel partners.Responsibilities

Lead and own all engineering aspects of a high-availability product suite, including technical strategy and the adoption of LLM-enabled front-ends.
Drive progressive migration plans from legacy UI stacks to modern frameworks while ensuring high-quality deliverables through test automation and SDLC best practices.
Empower and motivate engineering teams to grow into self-organized scrums, fostering technical thought leadership and innovation at all levels.
Manage budgets, resources and team capacity planning to achieve quality outcomes for the broader function.
Collaboratively work with direct reports to set performance objectives and remove obstacles required to achieve complex business goals.

Preferred qualifications and education

Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering leadership within a large-scale enterprise or global eCommerce environment.
Proven success in technical leadership roles, such as Tech Lead or Principal, with a strong background in full-stack Open Source languages and cloud technologies.
Demonstrated expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
Strong ability to think strategically and act as a knowledge resource on complex customer problems and new initiatives.
Experience leading through subordinate managers with full HR and financial responsibility for a department or section.
