You'll work alongside a collaborative, innovative, and forward-thinking team.You'll play a pivotal role in managing a team of engineers within the Traction Engineering System department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results aligned with project goals. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as Sub-System Managers and Project Engineering Managers), oversee the workload and capacity of your team, and much more.You'll specifically take care of ensuring QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) commitments are met and fostering the professional growth and competnece building of your team members, but also contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and guidelines.We'll look to you for:
  • Ensuring the respect of QCD commitments for the Elementary Design Unit (EDU) work package
  • Capitalizing on the return of experience by EDU members
  • Applying and improving Alstom guidelines
  • Defining and monitoring KPIs for the EDU
  • Managing the workload and ensuring capacity aligns with project needs
  • Staffing (hiring) according to project, tender, and R&D requirements
  • Performing people reviews and driving team development
  • Promoting multi-competency and succession planning for critical roles
  • Assessing team competencies and defining tailored development plans
  • Collaborating with other sites and stakeholders to improve ways of working

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics
  • Fluency in English
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in engineering, including at least 3 years in people management
  • Experience in Power Electronics and Drives, particularly in an international environment (railways experience is a must)
  • Product knowledge such as Traction Converter, High Voltage electrical architecture, writing technical specifications for the components.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and foster collaboration
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
