- Oversee all data center facility operations during the assigned shift.
- Monitor and manage power, cooling, ELV, Safety, security, and critical infrastructure performance.
- Ensure proactive issue identification and resolution to maintain uptime.
- Coordinate with the earlier/next shift team to ensure smooth handover and continuity.
- Report operational status, key events, and concerns to the Site In-Charge.
- Act as the first escalation point for any operational or facility-related issues during the shift.
- Preliminary troubleshoot failures in UPS, HVAC, generators, fire suppression systems, and other infrastructure, if vendor to be engaged, raise infrastructure ticket with concerned OEM/Vendor
- Coordinate with Technicians, and vendors for immediate resolution.
- Share communications with respective stakeholders/customers on the incident and provide periodical updates till closure of issue/incident
- Perform preliminary Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document incidents for further review.
- Escalate major issues to the Site In-Charge and ensure corrective & preventive actions are implemented.
- Manage technicians during the shift.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to shift schedules.
- Conduct shift briefings and ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
- Ensure workforce availability for emergency situations or critical tasks.
- Train on-shift personnel on best practices and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs related to uptime, response times, and facility management.
- Monitor performance metrics and take proactive actions to meet SLAs.
- Work with cross functional teams and facility teams to minimize disruptions and downtime.
- Document any SLA breaches and report them to the Site In-Charge with recommended actions.
- Adhere to and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EOP's, MOP's during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL frameworks and industry best practices.
- Document all shift activities, incidents, and actions taken in the shift handover.
- Conduct periodic checks to ensure all facility systems are operating within standards.
- Prepare 52 Week PM Schedule & Ensure preventive maintenance activities are carried out as per schedule.
- Oversee corrective maintenance activities and ensure minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors and technicians for servicing and repairs.
- Maintain maintenance logs and update records in the facility management system.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct on-shift safety checks, including fire suppression, access controls, and emergency exits.
- Train team members on emergency response procedures.
- Lead emergency drills and ensure all team members understand their roles.
- Report safety concerns or violations to the Site In-Charge.
- Report Gensuit safety observations and follow for closure on the assigned tasks.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO 27001, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, etc.).
- Conduct periodic compliance checks and report any deviations.
- Assist in audits and inspections by maintaining proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, electrical, and safety regulations.
- Track the validity/expiry of certifications and notify Site In-Charge 120 days prior to their expiry
- Act as the first point of contact for customers during the shift.
- Address customer queries and coordinate with internal teams for resolution.
- Provide real-time updates to customers regarding scheduled maintenance and incidents.
- Escalate critical customer issues to the Site In-Charge and follow up on resolutions.
- Assist in conducting Monthly Operations Review (MOR) meetings by gathering operations-related insights.
- Maintain and update shift logs detailing operational activities, incidents, and maintenance work.
- Generate reports on power usage, cooling efficiency, and any anomalies during the shift.
- Provide an end-of-shift report to the Site In-Charge, highlighting key observations.
- Assist in preparing incident reports and RCA documentation for major issues.
- Ensure equipment under warranty or Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) receives timely servicing.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs and replacement of faulty equipment.
- Update records of warranties, service requests, and contract renewals.
- Coordinate for PO issuance/renewal of AMC's with Vendor & Techno commercial Team
- Ensure efficient use of resources during the shift to avoid unnecessary operational costs.
- Report any cost-saving opportunities or inefficiencies to the Site In-Charge.
- Track equipment usage and ensure proper handling to reduce wear and tear.
- Monitor power consumption and cooling efficiency to maintain optimal PUE.
- Identify any abnormal power usage trends and report them for corrective actions.
- Assist in implementing energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices.
- Coordinate with vendors for maintenance and support activities.
- Ensure vendors adhere to SLAs and deliver services as per contractual agreements.
- Report on vendor performance issues to the Site In-Charge.
- Assist in Monthly Vendor Performance Reviews by gathering shift-based insights.
- Provide operations-based reports for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Assist in analyzing operational trends and identifying areas for improvement.
- Support facility planning and capacity management discussions.
- Align shift operations with business objectives and site-wide performance goals.
- Ensure vendors submit their invoices post completion of activity/delivery of goods.
- Verify vendor work completion before invoice approvals.
- Ensure all the documents are submitted for invoice processing.
- Prepare CJPC, Checklist and respective documents are sent to DCC for further processing.
- Verify on vendor payments and update the vendor invoice tracker upon completion of payment.
- Report any discrepancies or unexpected cost variations to the Site In-Charge.
- Identify the requirements for critical spares, consumables, and other operational necessities.
- Raise NFA, PR for approval based on stock levels and operational need
- Coordinate with Techno commercial team for releasing Purchase Orders.
- Follow-up with supplier/vendor for timely delivery of essential items to avoid operations disruptions
- Maintain updated inventory records for spares and consumables.
- Audit periodically, reconcile and report.
- Validate designs and infrastructure layouts against specifications and operational best practices.
- Identify and document snags during execution and commissioning activities.
- Involve in L4 & L5 commissioning activities.
- Identify single point of failures and coordinate/recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain records of all snags and coordinate with project teams for rectification.
- Ensure Handover and Takeover documents/spares are verified and signed off on time.
