Material Planner – Manufacturing IndustryLocation: Ahmedabad, GujaratEducation: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or related field.Experience : 3–8 years of experience in Material Planning, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management (preferably in the manufacturing/engineering industry).Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Material & Parts Planner to ensure smooth supply of parts and materials required for production. This role involves monitoring requirements, ensuring timely procurement, handling delivery schedules, resolving bottlenecks, and maintaining optimal inventory to safeguard production continuity.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and monitor material/parts requirements based on consumption and production schedules.Ensure timely delivery of materials in the correct quantity.Trigger delivery call-offs and monitor supplier confirmations.Identify and resolve delivery bottlenecks or shortages (e.g., raw material unavailability, supplier delays).Coordinate with internal teams for rescheduling or program adjustments.Monitor incoming materials, initiate complaints for quality or delivery issues.Evaluate stock levels, manage excess or shortage, and propose scrapping or recycling of surplus materials.Select suppliers (from pre-approved vendors) based on delivery capability, cost, and quality.Maintain accurate records of material planning and disposition documents.SkillsStrong knowledge of inventory management, MRP/ERP systems, and supplier coordination.Analyticalthinking with problem-solving ability in critical supply situations.Good communication and negotiation skills.The ideal candidate will be adept at planning, monitoring, and optimizing inventory levels based on production schedules and consumption trends. You will work closely with internal teams across production, procurement, and stores to ensure the right material reaches the right place at the right time. In addition, you will manage inventory health by analyzing stock, preventing overstock/shortage situations, and recommending disposal or recycling of excess materials.Beyond the operational focus, this role also demands strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to handle critical situations such as raw material shortages, sudden quality issues, or supplier delays.
