- Kafka Cluster Management: Manage and maintain Kafka clusters across multiple environments, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor Kafka cluster health and performance, identifying and resolving any issues that could impact system performance or uptime.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Kafka infrastructure. This includes diagnosing and fixing production issues as well as proactively identifying potential problem areas and addressing them.
- Security Implementation: Implement security measures for Kafka clusters, including access controls and encryption, to protect sensitive data.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform regular backup and recovery tasks to prevent data loss and ensure data integrity.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to assist with Kafka application design and usage. Provide guidance and support to developers working with Kafka.
- On-call Support: Participate in on-call rotation for Kafka support, providing timely and effective resolution to issues as they arise.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Kafka in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture and internals, including topics, producers, consumers, and brokers.
- Experience with Kafka APIs and advanced features, such as Kafka Streams and KSQL.
- Familiarity with Kafka security protocols such as SSL/TLS and SASL.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
- Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment.
