Installation and Configuration:
Installation, configuring, and maintaining Oracle Grid Infrastructure, which includes Oracle Clusterware and Oracle ASM. This involves setting up ASM disk groups and configuring storage for Oracle databases.
Storage Management:
Managing ASM disk groups, including adding, dropping, and rebalancing disks. Monitoring ASM space utilization and take action accordingly.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
Managing high availability through RAC and Data Guard in conjunction with ASM. This includes configuring ASM for shared storage in RAC environments and managing ASM-based storage for Data Guard standby databases.
Backup and Recovery:
Designing, implementing, and managing backup and recovery strategies for databases utilizing ASM, often involving Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) for ASM-aware backups and recoveries.
Performance Tuning:
Monitoring and tuning ASM performance, including I/O performance and disk group rebalancing operations, to optimize database performance.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing and resolving issues related to ASM, including disk failures, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems between databases and ASM instances.
Patching and Upgrades:
Applying patches and performing upgrades to Oracle Grid Infrastructure and ASM instances to ensure security and functionality.
Security:
