At BASF, careers develop from opportunities.Objective of the Position:The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a strategic partner to the Board and Management, responsible for financial stewardship, capital allocation, and sustainable value creation for the new legal entity BASF Agricultural Solutions India Ltd.Given the Company's stock-exchange listing in India, chemical manufacturing footprint, and German parentage, the role has a strong emphasis on:Financial reporting, Indian Accounting Standards, and Tax compliance including intercompany pricingLicense to Operate (LTO) with respect to financial and taxBuilding a strong, future-ready finance organizationKey Responsibilities1. Financial Leadership & StrategyLead the development and execution of the Company's financial strategy, aligned with long-term business and sustainability objectives.Oversee budgeting, forecasting, treasury, working capital management, and capital expenditure planning for manufacturing operations.Provide strategic insights to the Board and CEO on profitability, cost optimization, pricing, and investment decisions.Support inorganic growth initiatives, including M&A, joint ventures, and technology investments, where applicable.2. Regulatory Compliance & Governance (Listed Entity Focus)Ensure full compliance with:Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI Listing Regulations with respect to financial reporting and matters connected therewithIndian Accounting Standards / IFRS reportingIncome-tax, GST, customs, and transfer pricing regulationsAct as a key management representative to the Audit Committee, ensuring high standards of financial integrity and disclosure.review quarterly, annual, and event-based disclosures from finance perspective to stock exchanges, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.3. Related Party Transactions (RPTs) & Intercompany Governanceoversee Related Party Transactions with the German parent and global group entities, specifically with respect to:Arm's length pricing and transfer pricing complianceRobust documentation and approval processesPartner with legal, secretarial, and tax teams to mitigate risks arising from intercompany transactions.4. License to Operate (LtO) - Financial & Regulatory StewardshipAct as a custodian of the Company's financial and regulatory License to Operate, ensuring sustained trust with:Investors, analysts, and lendersJoint-venture and group stakeholdersOversee financial aspects for reporting purposes.Ensure robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and audit processes to protect the Company's reputation and continuity.5. Financial Stakeholder ManagementBuild credibility with banks, financial institutions, rating agencies, and auditors.Act as a key interface with the German parent company, aligning local statutory requirements with global reporting, and performance expectations.6. Team Building & Capability DevelopmentBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance organization, covering:Financial accounting & reportingTaxation and its related compliancesBusiness financeTreasury and internal auditKey Qualifications & Experience:Chartered Accountant (CA); MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification preferred.20+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with significant exposure as CFO / Deputy CFO / Finance Head in Listed companies in India (ideally MNCs) preferably in Manufacturing and / or chemical/process industriesDemonstrated expertise in:Related Party Transactions and intercompany structuresIndian Accounting Standards, taxation, and transfer pricingpresenting finance & related matters to Board of listed CompanyPrior experience working with multinational companies (preferably European/German) is highly desirable.Proven track record of building and leading large finance teams.Key CompetenciesStrong governance mindset with high ethical standardsAbility to operate at Board and Audit Committee levelStrategic thinking with hands-on execution capabilityStrong acumen in steering and handling financial statements (e.g. P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements etc.)Cross-cultural effectiveness in global matrix organizationsClear communicator with strong stakeholder engagementStay alert for possible recruitment fraud!
