- Oversee technical aspects of blade production, including precise execution of resin infusion and vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) to ensure optimal composite material performance.
- Monitor and adjust curing parameters, such as temperature and pressure in autoclaves, to achieve desired mechanical properties and structural integrity.
- Operate and maintain advanced production equipment, including CNC routers for mold cutting, resin dispensers, and curing ovens, ensuring precise and efficient operation.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure consistent production quality.
- Conduct detailed quality inspections of blades at various stages using non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing and thermographic inspection to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Document and address quality deviations, implementing corrective actions in coordination with the Quality Assurance team.
- Manage resources, including composite materials and tools, to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste.
- Monitor and report on resource usage, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost-saving measures.
- Track and analyze production performance metrics, such as cycle times, defect rates, and throughput efficiency, using production management software and data analytics.
- Implement measures to enhance performance and achieve production targets.
- Identify and implement process improvements in resin application, mold design, and blade curing techniques to enhance production efficiency and reduce material waste.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and techniques, such as automated layup systems and real-time monitoring sensors, to advance production capabilities.
- Adhere to safety protocols related to equipment operation, material handling, and production processes, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Participate in safety training and implement safety measures to mitigate risks associated with blade manufacturing.
- Maintain accurate records of production processes, including material usage, equipment performance, and quality metrics.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on production activities, including any issues encountered, resolutions implemented, and performance improvements.
- Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and production staff, ensuring they are proficient in production processes and equipment operation.
- Share expertise and knowledge to improve team capabilities and foster a culture of technical excellence.
