Job Description:Job DescriptionSenior Manager – EHSQualificationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or relevant discipline – MandatoryDiploma / Certification in Industrial Safety / Construction Safety from a recognized institute preferredExperience12 – 18+ years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) in large construction or infrastructure projects, preferably high-rise building constructionJob LocationProject Site / Multiple Project SitesRole OverviewThe Senior Manager – EHS will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and practices across construction site. The role involves ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and minimizing workplace hazards and incidents.The candidate will lead site safety teams, coordinate with project management and contractors, and ensure all construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with statutory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesEHS Strategy & ImplementationDevelop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and safety management systems across project sites.Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards.Promote a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and workers.Site Safety ManagementMonitor safety practices across construction activities including structural work, formwork, reinforcement, finishing, and MEP installations.Ensure implementation of safe work procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.Conduct periodic site safety inspections and audits.Hazard Identification & Risk ManagementIdentify potential workplace hazards and safety risks across project activities.Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to minimize accidents and unsafe conditions.Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments.Incident InvestigationLead investigations for accidents, near misses, and safety incidents.Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.Maintain proper incident reporting and documentation.Training & AwarenessConduct safety training programs and awareness sessions for employees and workers.Ensure regular toolbox talks and safety briefings at project sites.Promote best safety practices among subcontractors and labour teams.Environmental ManagementEnsure proper implementation of environmental management practices including waste management, dust control, and pollution prevention.Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.Contractor Safety ManagementMonitor safety performance of subcontractors and vendors.Ensure contractors comply with site safety standards and procedures.Participate in contractor safety meetings and reviews.Documentation & ReportingMaintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, and compliance documentation.Prepare EHS performance reports and safety statistics.Report safety performance to project leadership and management.Technical Skills RequiredStrong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulationsExperience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigationKnowledge of environmental management practices in construction projectsFamiliarity with safety audit procedures and compliance requirementsProficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and safety documentation systemsPreferred SkillsStrong leadership and team management capabilitiesExcellent communication and training skillsAbility to influence and promote safety culture at construction sitesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
