Job Description:Job DescriptionEngineer / Sr. Engineer – EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) – MandatoryDiploma / Certification in Industrial Safety / Construction Safety from a recognized institute preferredExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) in construction projects, preferably high-rise residential or commercial building projectsJob LocationProject SiteRole OverviewThe Engineer / Sr. Engineer – EHS will be responsible for monitoring daily safety practices at the construction site and ensuring compliance with company safety policies and statutory regulations. The role involves identifying hazards, implementing preventive measures, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring that all construction activities are carried out safely.The position will work closely with project execution teams, subcontractors, and safety supervisors to promote a strong safety culture across the project.Key ResponsibilitiesSite Safety MonitoringMonitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.Ensure safe execution of structural works, formwork operations, reinforcement works, finishing works, and MEP installations.Conduct routine site safety inspections and hazard identification.Hazard Identification & Risk ControlIdentify unsafe conditions and potential safety risks at work fronts.Ensure implementation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments, and safe work procedures.Recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and unsafe practices.Safety ComplianceEnsure workers and subcontractors follow site safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.Monitor compliance with statutory safety regulations and company safety guidelines.Assist in ensuring safe use of equipment, machinery, scaffolding, and lifting operations.Safety Training & AwarenessConduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers and site staff.Participate in organizing safety training programs and awareness campaigns.Promote safety awareness across all project activities.Incident Reporting & InvestigationReport accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the EHS Manager.Assist in incident investigations and preparation of safety reports.Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.Contractor Safety MonitoringMonitor safety practices of subcontractors and labour teams.Ensure contractors comply with site safety requirements and safety procedures.Participate in contractor safety meetings and site safety reviews.Documentation & ReportingMaintain records of site safety inspections, toolbox talks, incident reports, and safety observations.Prepare daily and weekly safety reports.Assist in maintaining statutory safety documentation and compliance records.Technical Skills RequiredGood knowledge of construction safety standards and regulationsExperience in hazard identification and safety inspectionsFamiliarity with risk assessment and incident investigation proceduresUnderstanding of construction activities and associated safety risksProficiency in MS Excel and safety reporting systemsPreferred SkillsStrong observation and risk identification abilityGood communication and training skillsAbility to enforce safety practices at work frontsProactive approach toward accident prevention and safety improvement
