DESCRIPTIONLead a pioneering team at Amazon Pharmacy as we build our next-generation Pharmacy Warehouse Management System (WMS) from the ground up in Bangalore. As the founding development manager, you'll establish and scale a high-performing engineering team focused on mission-critical fulfillment technology that ensures medication safety for millions of customers across America.
You'll drive the technical vision and execution of complex distributed systems handling inventory management, order orchestration, and compliance-critical workflows, while integrating with cutting-edge robotics and AI/ML capabilities. This role requires a strong technical leader who can balance rapid innovation with unwavering quality standards in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

You'll partner closely with senior leadership to shape the technical strategy of this rapidly growing business, while building and mentoring a team of talented engineers.   • Building, leading and growing diverse, inclusive and high-performing engineering product teams, including recruiting, mentoring, motivating, promoting and performance management.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including customers, product managers, stakeholders and leaders to ensure the successful delivery of product capabilities.
  • Timely execution and prioritization of goals for the team and effectively mitigating risks.
Strategic leadership to create product roadmaps, set the vision for the team and collaboratively partner with other stakeholder teams.
  • Technical leadership including architecture and design discussions for science and engineering problems and technical deep dives to ensure resolution of root causes of complex issues.

Whether it is building our own software or integrating with other in-house and/or third-party services, we strive to leverage the best-in-class technology available to deliver delightful healthcare experiences to Amazon customers, starting with Pharmacy.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 8+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Excellent communication and articulation skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
