- Perform complex surgical oncology procedures with precision, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Evaluate patients through medical history, diagnostic imaging, pathology reports, and other relevant data to determine surgical candidacy.
- Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists to develop integrated, multidisciplinary treatment plans.
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing complications, and counseling patients and families.
- Apply evidence-based practices and remain updated with the latest advancements in surgical oncology techniques and cancer care.
- Participate in tumor boards, case discussions, and departmental meetings to ensure holistic patient management.
- Counsel patients regarding risks, benefits, and alternatives to surgical intervention, supporting informed decision-making.
- Engage in cancer prevention, early detection, and screening programs as required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Mentor junior doctors, surgical residents, and trainees in surgical oncology practices.
- Contribute to clinical research, publications, and academic activities related to surgical oncology.
- MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from a recognized institution.
- M.Ch. or equivalent super-specialization in Surgical Oncology is mandatory.
- 2–7 years of proven experience as a Surgical Oncologist in a reputed cancer hospital or tertiary care setup.
- Proficiency in performing a wide spectrum of oncological surgeries including breast, head & neck, thoracic, gastrointestinal, gynecological, and urological cancers.
- Strong knowledge of cancer staging, surgical techniques, reconstructive methods, and minimally invasive surgical oncology procedures.
- Familiarity with advanced technologies such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery in oncology (preferred).
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical conditions and treatment options to patients in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical medical practices, and continuous professional development.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary cancer care team.
- Participation in clinical trials or research projects related to surgical oncology.
- Published research or academic contributions in reputed oncology journals.
- Exposure to international surgical oncology practices or advanced fellowships will be an added advantage.
