Job Description :Designation : Lead Design Engineer.Reporting to : Project Lead Design.Location : Bangalore, Full Time.Qualification : BE/M-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.Experience : 6 - 8 Years.Position Overview :- This role is one of the senior members in the Design team for Marmon Industrial Water.- The role is to execute the engineering activities such as detailed design, design calculations, Tolerance stack ups, manufacturing drawings, FEA simulations, Prototype development and testing of various mechanical and mechatronics systems.- The selected candidate will be responsible for quality of deliverables and for managing time and cost of all the projects executed.Key Responsibilities/Functions :- Design and develop new products, maintain present product designs thru Continuous Improvement, VAVE and conduct design-related testing and validation.- On-time project delivery while upholding utmost technical standards and quality standards for the deliveries within agreed budgets will be the key metrics of performance measurement.- Contributing to the business thru innovative ideas and through generating IP for the organization.- As part of the senior role in Engineering team, mentor trainee engineers and junior engineers on various technical skills.Required Qualifications :(Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge) :- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical major.- Experience in Mechanical & Mechatronics product design at system or sub-system level in the Water treatment equipment industry.- Hands on experience in design calculations.- Ability to work on FEA simulation software.- Excellent understanding of materials, processes and finishing operations.- Expertise in GD&T, Tolerance stack up, DFMEA and Concept Selection Metrics.- Exposure to manufacturing environment.- Experience in prototyping and testing such as product performance tests, reliability tests, etc.- A deep understanding of huge fabrications, piping, industrial structures, pressure vessel, tanks, valves, pumps used in water treatment equipment is a must.- Understanding of motor selection, various power drives and control system.- Understanding and selection of Automatic on/off valves with accessories.- Understanding and selection of Modulating Control valves with accessories.- Expertise in SolidWorks software.- Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Routing, and Simulation add-ins is an added advantage.- Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute tasks (new development, product improvement, basics of cost estimating, BOM management, value engineering, analysis, etc.).- Prior experience/exposure to working in a global engineering environment involving interactions & travel to other locations, including multi-continent reporting and engineering collaboration.- Knowledge of NPD process is must.- Knowledge and experience of - technical writing- is an added advantage.
