A Store Manager in a steel manufacturing company oversees the end-to-end warehousing operations, including receiving, storing, and issuing raw materials (iron ore, scrap, coal) and finished goods. They ensure inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, manage staff, and enforce safety protocols (5S, PPE) to ensure smooth production flow.Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Control: Maintain precise inventory records of raw materials, spares, and consumables using ERP systems like SAP or Tally.
  • Logistics & Documentation: Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including inspection of incoming materials for quality and quantity discrepancies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Implement FIFO/FEFO practices to manage material flow and avoid material damage.
  • Departmental Coordination: Coordinate with procurement, production, and finance departments to ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule store staff while enforcing safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
  • Auditing: Conduct regular physical inventory verification and provide MIS reports to management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 8–15 years in inventory management, preferably within the steel, furnace, or heavy manufacturing sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and MS Office.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel plant materials and safety procedures.
  • Qualifications: B.Com or relevant degree in Supply Chain Management.
Job Scope
