  • Technical Design lead within OSS: evaluate new network and IT technologies, ensure systems are aligned to Vodafone strategy, meeting customer requirements and ensuring a sustainable support model. Working with various teams to define and validate solutions are fit for purpose, carry out lab testing and PoC validation as required.
  • Work with colleagues in OSS, IT Architecture, Network Architects, Service Designers, Business Analysts, customers, and vendors to provide input into strategic roadmaps; and develop and deliver both large and small development enhancements.
  • Produce high quality, comprehensive and coherent IT specifications; Input for business cases & impact assessments; Lead vendor engagements; Ensure technical deliveries are on time, in budget, and to the desired standard. Provide or ensure support for live deployments is available in line with project needs.
  • To support the third-line operational support teams in fault resolution where detailed OSS knowledge is required.
  • To provide knowledge and expertise within and outside the OSS team, and provide leadership to cross-functional development and problem-solving teams.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Certification: ITIL v3 Foundation, IBM Cloud Core
  • Core Qualifications: Service-Oriented Architecture, Business Process Mapping
  • Scripting Languages: Shell Scripting, PL/SQL, JAVA
  • Integration Method: Web API, SOAP API, CORBA, SNMP, PUSH/PULL
  • Databases: Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL 2008
  • Administrative: Microsoft Office
  • Design: SAP Business Object Portal, SignaVio Process Tool
  • Operating Platforms: Windows 7/Vista/2003/98, UNIX, Linux
  • Environment: Physical VMs, Cloud, Kafka Cluster
