Salary: Up to 16.8 LPAAbout the role:
We are seeking a Director of Programmes and Partnerships to lead high-quality, on-the-ground program delivery and build impactful discourse to advance the rights of young people, especially those who have been marginalized. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, preferably with major expertise in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), as well as health, gender, sexuality, and human rights.Key Responsibilities:Programme Management and Leadership: Develop strategies for effective and relevant programs based on on-the-ground needs and lead a team of program managers. You will also ensure regular, high-quality due diligence, monitoring, and evaluation of programs.Policy Development and Strategy: Write and develop policy briefs, position papers, program briefs, and research papers to increase the visibility of our work and expand our learning. You will represent the organization on local, national, and international platforms to forge strategic networks and coalitions.Knowledge Management and Communications: Oversee knowledge management and public outreach to assess organizational effectiveness and strategic growth. Guide internal and external communication strategies to ensure coherent messaging.Team Development and Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and training to team members to strengthen program management and implementation. You will also establish and monitor team performance, set goals, and conduct performance reviews.Fundraising and Organisation Representation: Identify resource needs across programs and support the organization's grant-making processes. Oversee project finances and funder reports for smoother management.Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Social Sciences, preferably in gender studies, education, public health, or law and policy development.
  • 5-7 years of relevant full-time work experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role within a development sector organization.
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in the areas of health, gender, sexuality, and human rights.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing conflict situations, team expectations, and collective aspirations.
  • Proven experience in leading program design and implementation, including network building and budget making.
  • Experience in developing, writing, and editing policy briefs, statements, and strategy papers.
  • Proficiency in English with additional regional language(s).
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Slack, Canva, and social media platforms
