Job Purpose:The Paint Shop Production Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day operations within the paint shop, including chassis line, batch-type painting processes, PTCED line, topcoat line, sheet metal processing, pre-delivery inspection (PDI), and export shed activities. The officer ensures operational efficiency, adherence to quality and safety standards, and timely delivery of finished products.Key Responsibilities:Chassis Line Management:- Supervise the assembly processes on the chassis line to achieve production targets.- Conduct quality checks to ensure defect-free assembly before painting.- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective measures to improve efficiency.Batch-Type Paint Operations:- Oversee batch-type painting processes, ensuring uniform coating and adherence to specifications.- Monitor paint application techniques, including thickness, texture, and color accuracy.- Maintain and troubleshoot paint shop equipment to prevent downtime.PTCED Line Operations:- Manage Pre-Treatment and Cathodic Electro-Deposition (PTCED) processes for corrosion resistance and primer application.- Ensure chemical compositions, temperature, and process parameters are within acceptable limits.- Monitor equipment performance and schedule preventive maintenance.Topcoat Line Management:- Supervise the topcoat painting process for high-quality finishes and durability.- Coordinate inspections for color matching, surface finishing, and overall quality.- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for paint disposal and emissions control.Sheet Metal Processing:- Oversee sheet metal fabrication and processing operations for precision and quality.- Coordinate with design and production teams to maximize material usage and minimize wastage.- Ensure regular maintenance and calibration of sheet metal equipment.Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI):- Supervise the PDI process to ensure tractors meet quality standards before dispatch.- Develop and implement inspection checklists covering visual and functional aspects.- Address and resolve defects identified during PDI with the quality assurance team.Export Shed Management:- Oversee export shed activities, including packaging, labeling, and dispatching products for export.- Ensure compliance with international export regulations and required documentation.- Coordinate with logistics teams for timely shipment of products.Team Leadership:- Manage and mentor teams across chassis line, sheet metal, paint shop, PDI, and export shed operations.- Conduct regular training sessions on process improvements and safety measures.- Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments to ensure smooth operations.Reporting and Documentation:- Maintain accurate records of production, inspection, and export activities.- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational performance.- Analyze data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.Safety and Compliance:- Ensure all operations adhere to safety standards and environmental regulations.- Conduct safety audits and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).- Implement measures to reduce workplace hazards and risks.Qualifications and Experience:Education:- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.- Additional certifications in industrial painting processes, PTCED operations, or export management (preferred).Experience:- 5-7 years of experience in managing paint shop operations, chassis assembly, PTCED lines, topcoat lines, sheet metal processing, PDI, and export shed activities.- Proven experience in handling multi-departmental production operations within a manufacturing environment.
