- Manage and resolve Vertex-related incidents, service requests, and technical issues across SAP S/4HANA modules (e.g. SD, MM, and FI).
- Monitor the integration between SAP and Vertex O Series, ensuring timely and accurate tax determination and reporting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, tax teams, and IT to triage and troubleshoot tax calculation discrepancies, interface errors, and compliance-related issues.
- Perform root cause analysis, propose corrective actions, and implement long-term solutions for recurring Vertex integration problems.
- Maintain system configuration, tax condition records, and mapping logic between SAP and Vertex.
- Support monthly/quarterly tax reporting cycles and compliance checks, including working with external auditors or tax authorities as needed.
- Support regression testing, transport management, and cutover activities.
- Collaborate with Vertex technical support and SAP Basis teams to apply patches, updates, and performance tuning.
- Contribute to knowledge base documentation, support guides, and user training materials to ensure consistency in issue handling and system usage.
- Coordinate with external service providers, and regulatory authorities as needed for technical support and compliance resolution.
- A Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field or have acquired a comparable qualification.
- You bring 4-5 years of SAP experience with a focus on tax automation, including strong working knowledge of Vertex O'Series integrated with SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience supporting indirect tax processes such as sales tax, use tax, VAT, and GST across multiple regions.
- Solid understanding of SAP SD, MM, and FI tax configuration, including pricing procedures, condition techniques, and jurisdictional tax logic.
- Good understanding of ABAP debugging, user exits, and enhancement points to support technical issue resolution.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Experience working with ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, SAP Solution Manager) and following ITIL processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with end users, business teams, and external vendors.
- Vertex certification or formal training in Vertex O Series is a plus.
- Business fluent English skills are required, both written and spoken.
