Job Title : Shift EngineerJob Location : MumbaiQualification : Bachelor of Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical EngineerExperience : Minimum 2 Years of Experience as Shift Engineer in pumping stationSalary : Competitive & As per industry Normsjob Description :To ensure the uninterrupted, efficient, and safe operation of sewage pumping station systems during assigned shifts. Responsible for supervising operational staff, performing routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment faults, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Operations Monitoring & Control- Oversee the operation of pumps, motors, valves, and control systems.- Monitor flow rates, pressure, tank levels, and power consumption.- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).2. Supervision & Staff Coordination- Manage and coordinate activities of shift technicians and operators.- Conduct shift handovers with accurate reporting.- Ensure attendance, discipline, and performance of team members.3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting- Carry out or coordinate minor maintenance and repairs.- Identify mechanical/electrical faults and escalate complex issues.- Coordinate with the maintenance team for planned maintenance activities.4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.- Respond promptly to emergencies like overflows, equipment failure, or safety hazards.- Maintain clean and safe working conditions.5. Documentation & Reporting- Maintain logs of operational parameters, incidents, and maintenance.- Prepare daily and shift-wise reports.- Record energy and chemical consumption.6. Communication & Coordination- Liaise with control room, higher management, maintenance staff, and external agencies as required.- Participate in safety and operations meetings.Qualifications & Skills:Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.Experience: 2- 5 years in operation/maintenance of wastewater/sewage pumping stations or treatment plants.- Familiarity with SCADA and PLC systems is a plus.Key Skills:- Technical understanding of pumps, motors, valves, and electrical systems.- Analytical and troubleshooting abilities.- Good leadership and communication skills.- Knowledge of occupational safety and environmental regulations.Work Conditions:- Rotational shift work (day/night/weekends/holidays).- Exposure to wastewater, chemicals, noise, and sometimes confined spaces.- On-call availability in case of emergencies.
