1.Packaging Development:a.Develop and validate packaging designs for various welding consumables: electrodes (MMAW), solid wires, flux-cored wires, and flux.b.Customize packaging based on product type (vacuum-sealed bags, tins, cartons, pallets, etc.) and customer requirements.c.Work closely with R&D, production, and quality to align packaging with product characteristics (moisture sensitivity, weight, storage needs).2.Cost Optimization:a.Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through alternate materials, bulk packaging, improved designs, or sourcing strategies.b.Perform cost-benefit analysis for new packaging proposals.c.Explore localization opportunities and reduce reliance on imported materials where feasible.3.Vendor Development & Management:a.Identify, evaluate, and develop packaging material suppliers (bags, boxes, sealing machines, stickers, etc.).b.Coordinate with suppliers for prototyping, trials, and large-scale implementation.c.Negotiate material costs and one-time development charges (e.g., molds, printing rollers).4.Trials & Validation:a.Conduct in-plant packaging trials and drop/stacking/moisture ingress tests as required.b.Ensure packaging compatibility with automated/semi-automated packing lines.5.Compliance & Documentation:a.Ensure packaging meets product labeling, traceability, and transportation norms (including export).b.Maintain packaging specifications, drawings, and change control records.Requirements1. Degree/Diploma in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.2. 3 to 8 years of experience in packaging design/development
