Overview:- Our client is building an omnichannel retail play in the home improvement industry (e.g., plywood, paints, polish, furniture fitting, etc.) and aspires to build India's 'The Home Depot'. It was founded in 2022 by a diverse team of ex-Bain, IITian, and Industry Veterans and is bringing the 'Warehouse Retailer Model' to the industry. They are currently operating in East India and serving Interior Designers/Architects and Small Retailers. It plans to expand into Eastern India by opening experience centers/warehouses (organically/franchise-based). They are backed by tier 1 funds e.g., Beenext, Sparrow, Veda VC, etc Role:- Head of Retail: Gurgaon About Role Build the Retail Business: The role involves setting up the Retail outlets (along with digital channel, with typical store size to be 4K-8K sqft carrying categories such as plywood, furniture fittings, etc). This involves developing a playbook for setting up its stores as well as franchise-led stores. It includes end-to-end responsibility of finding the right franchise partners, location identification, designing and setting up of the stores, inventory management, PoS setup, hiring employees, and system development. Note: Working with Franchise is key for expansion and the role involves laying down the foundation of the franchise model in the industry (currently non-existent) Run the Retail Business: Manage the retail operations to ensure each store is operating at 100% efficiency and implement the guidelines, KPIs, and training programs to enhance the productivity of the store. Plan out ATL and in-store marketing activities, and plan strategic initiatives to drive sales and profitability. Work with the Franchise to ensure a Win: Win outcome for both the partners and ensure adherence to systems and aligned KPIs Note: Overall responsibility to drive the Topline and Bottom line of the Retail Outlets Qualifications: Looking for an individual with deep experience in leading multi-category/multi-brand retail outlets e.g., Big Bazaar, Lifestyle, Shopper's Stop, etc. Strong leadership and team management skills Be data-driven and can define KPIs, monitor and track KPIs 5+ years of experience in leadership roles at Retail companies with 10+ years of overall experience Education qualification: Graduation from Tier 1 colleges Compensation: Open to discussion (will include ESOP pool as well)
