The role of Chief Credit Officer (CCO) involves overseeing credit risk management and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in the financial services sector. This position is based in NCR and requires a strategic thinker with expertise in retail banking and loans.Key Responsibilities:1. Regulatory Strategy & NHB Engagement
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Hero Housing and NHB for all regulatory communications, inspections, and submissions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of NHB-mandated reports, including quarterly statements on director changes and fit-and-proper criteria.
  • Monitor NHB circulars and policy updates, and translate them into actionable business strategies
  • Lead internal implementation of NHB advisories on KYC, AML, fraud reporting, and fair practices
2. Compliance Oversight
  • Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer to embed a strong compliance culture across commercial functions
  • Ensure that all sales, marketing, and customer engagement activities adhere to RBI and NHB guidelines.
  • Oversee internal audits and compliance reviews related to commercial operations.
3. Commercial Leadership
  • Drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, product innovation, and customer acquisition.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, and customer experience.
  • Align commercial goals with regulatory constraints and risk appetite.
4. Risk & Governance
  • Identify and mitigate compliance risks that could lead to legal, financial, or reputational damage.
  • Ensure commercial decisions are vetted for regulatory impact, especially under the NBFC-Middle Layer classification
  • Participate in Board-level discussions on compliance and regulatory strategy.
5. Stakeholder Management
  • Represent Hero Housing in NHB forums, industry associations, and regulatory consultations.
  • Build relationships with NHB officers, auditors, and policy makers to advocate for industry-friendly reforms.
  • Ensure transparency and responsiveness in all regulatory engagements.

  • Education: MBA or CA with specialization in Finance, Risk, or Regulatory Affairs.
  • Experience: 15+ years in housing finance or NBFCs, with at least 5 years in a regulatory-facing leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of NHB guidelines, RBI's SBR Framework, and housing finance regulations.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong grasp of compliance risk management and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic mindset with operational execution capability.
  • Familiarity with NHB portals, ORMIS, and regulatory reporting tools.
