Job DescriptionRole Title: Senior Engineering Manager, Platform EngineeringPosition Summary:Oversees day to day application development projects and engineering while leading continuous improvement on process definition and compliance. Directly manages software engineers and project managers. Delivers on commitments to discipline partners and collaborates with architects on major organizational initiatives across multiple channels & platforms. Functions as the technical decision-maker and problem solver to deliver projects on time and on budget. Promotes project quality and manages the application development team to promote satisfaction with all technology teams and business partners by following standard application development tools and processes. Manages continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.Job Responsibilities:Application Development Governance:

Ensure consistent service delivery across client groups through standardized SDLC tools and processes (Agile & Waterfall).
Communicate application development policies and identify opportunities to align with broader IT and corporate standards.

Project & Team Management:

Lead application development projects in partnership with IT, business teams, and service providers.
Drive effective reporting, project reviews, and stakeholder communication.
Oversee service-level performance, escalate issues proactively, and implement corrective measures.
Support IT strategy, planning, governance, and financial management processes.

Service Provider Oversight:

Ensure service provider adherence to MSAs and SLAs.
Guide vendor teams to align with client needs, resolve service delivery challenges, and uphold contract compliance.
Validate estimates, track deliverables, and promote outcome-based performance metrics.

Technology Delivery & Support:

Perform advanced analysis to enhance service delivery and ensure project compliance with development and business case standards.
Collaborate with operations / infrastructure for deployments and production support.
Provide input for complex systems development and vendor coordination.

Skills & Experience:

12+ years in application development leadership; 9+ years in backend integration and architecture.
Strong expertise in API management (e.g., Akana), developer portals, and automated provisioning.
Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, NoSQL, and public cloud (AWS / Azure).
In-depth knowledge of microservices, cloud-native design, service mesh (e.g., Istio), DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and SEO concepts.
Experience with content management systems, full stack infrastructure, and API orchestration.
Proven success managing cross-functional, outsourced, or matrixed teams and delivering large-scale digital transformations.
Familiarity with GraphQL, REST, JSON / XML, automation testing, performance engineering, release management, and omni-channel integration.
Strong understanding of IT outsourcing, product delivery models, ITIL, and SDLC (Agile & Waterfall).
Effective in stakeholder management, strategic planning, budgeting, and translating technology to business value.
Excellent collaboration, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills in a high-paced environment.

Education & Certifications:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience / certifications in relevant technologies
