Job Responsibilities:Design and Development: Collaborate with design engineers to develop connecting rod designs that meet performance, durability and cost requirements. Utilize CAD software for modeling and simulation to optimize designs.Manufacturing Process Optimization:
Oversee the manufacturing process of connecting rods, including forging, machining, heat treatment and finishing operations. Implement process improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.Tooling and Equipment Selection:
Work with tooling engineers and suppliers to select or design tools, fixtures and equipment necessary for connecting rod manufacturing. Ensure that tools and equipment meet production requirements and quality standards.Quality Assurance and Control:
Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that connecting rods meet dimensional, metallurgical and mechanical specifications. Perform statistical analysis and root cause analysis to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Estimate manufacturing costs for connecting rods and identify opportunities for cost reduction through process optimization, material substitution or supplier negotiations.Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, specifications and quality records. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production planning, procurement and quality assurance, to coordinate activities and achieve project objectives.Qualifications:Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in lean manufacturing process preferably in the automotive industry with focus on Connecting Rod.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for design and simulation. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining and heat treatment with a strong communication skill and manpower handling.About Company
