- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
- Record financial transactions and ensure their accuracy.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate and analyze financial reports for management.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Track and analyze budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and other required documents.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure they align with budgetary constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Utilize accounting software to streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Stay informed about updates and improvements in financial software tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
