- Drug management: Competency in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of medications, ensuring safe and precise chemotherapy, immunosuppressive, and supportive drug delivery for BMT patients.
- Bone Marrow Transplant: Detailed understanding of the entire BMT process including donor coordination, post-transplant care, and management of complications unique to transplant patients.
- Patient Care: Proven experience in patient-centered care, demonstrating sensitivity, empathy, and advocacy for patients and families dealing with complex and often critical medical conditions.
- Infection Control: In-depth knowledge and meticulous application of infection prevention protocols to safeguard immunocompromised BMT patients and uphold hospital safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively: Skilled in interdisciplinary teamwork, maintaining clear communication and coordination with physicians, consultants, pharmacists, and ancillary staff for holistic patient management.
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing Bone Marrow Transplant from admission through recovery, strictly adhering to clinical protocols.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunosuppressive regimens, and supportive drugs, ensuring correct dosage, timing, and meticulous monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
- Observe, assess, and document patients progress, promptly recognizing and responding to complications related to transplant procedures, including infection and graft rejection.
- Implement and maintain rigorous infection control protocols specific to high-risk BMT settings, supporting the safety and wellbeing of both patients and staff.
- Educate patients and family members regarding the BMT process, preparation, postoperative care, medication management, and signs of complications, fostering understanding and cooperation.
- Support donor screening, compatibility checks, and transplant coordination in alignment with established medical and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for planning and delivering holistic, individualized care plans tailored to each patients unique needs.
