Our Civil 3D Product team is establishing a brand-new R&D center in Pune, India, and we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Engineering Manager to lead our efforts. The candidate will be responsible for hiring and onboarding the new team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and building a center of excellence at the Pune site. The ideal candidate will need to have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and deliver high-quality software projects.Roles and ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers. Provide clear guidance, regular feedback, and support career growthTechnical Oversight: Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of features, components, and cloud services, ensuring technical excellenceProject Management: Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop release plans that deliver meaningful customer valueStrategic Planning: Formulate and execute long-term strategies that align with organizational goalsContinuous Improvement: Champion best practices in engineering, including code quality, testing, deployment, and monitoringCross-functional Collaboration: Foster trust and effective collaboration with globally distributed teams, including DevOps, to ensure seamless product deliveryCustomer Focus: Advocate for end-users by ensuring the team’s output meets high standards for performance and usabilityMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a managerial roleProven experience as a technical lead in large-scale software development, with successful completion of multiple full development cyclesSolid hands-on experience in C/C++Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of making impactful technical decisionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersEffective collaboration and interpersonal skills, with experience working in scaled Scrum teams and driving cross-team progressExperience in establishing and building new teams or R&D centersAbility to motivate and inspire a teamPreferred QualificationsBackground or education in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industryExperience with cloud services and web technologiesKnowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite)Practical experience with AI technologies, frameworks, or platformsExperience with test-driven development and behavior-driven development is a plus#LI-SJ1Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
