It consists of over 30 well-known brands and nearly 8,900 properties situated in 141 countries and territories.Role Title:Senior Network Engineer IIPosition Summary:The Senior Network Engineer II plays a critical role within Marriotts Technical Accelerator group, bridging Tier II operations and Tier III engineering teams. This position focuses on the design, implementation, and support of mission-criticalon-premises data center and co-location networks, while maintaining strong integration withcloud, property, and enterprise network environments. The engineer will drive automation, scalability, and reliability across Marriotts global network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for millions of customers and associates.This role is ideal for a highly skilled network engineer with a passion for automation, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering, and delivery of data center and co-location network solutions, including for routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Collaborate with cloud, property, and enterprise network teams to ensure seamless traffic flow and integration across hybrid environments.
- Drive automation of network provisioning and configuration using modern tools and scripting languages.
- Manage lifecycle activities including hardware refreshes, code upgrades, and configuration hardening to maintain compliance and security.
- Support high-severity incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term remediation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, test plans, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy by monitoring service health and communicating performance metrics to leadership.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, introducing best practices and innovative solutions.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure development.
- 5+ years in a lead role managing routing protocols, switch fabrics, firewall security, and load-balancing architectures.
- Deep expertise in routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), firewall segmentation, and network security.
- Experience with physical and virtual lab environments for testing and certification of network solutions.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce clear documentation and diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, and F5 GTM/LTM technologies.
- Familiarity with public cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), including VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity (Direct Connect/ExpressRoute).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting).
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change through collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related OR equivalent total years of experience
- Certification such as CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, CCSA, CCSE or AWS Certified Advanced Networking
