The Software Analyst II supports and maintains software-as-a-service (SaaS), packaged software, and enterprise-wide applications. Maps business processes to applications to best deliver value and maximize application functionality. Performs configuration, setup, and updates of the application, as well as manages access control. Scope of delivery and sphere of influence is for a single squad.Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, configuration, testing, monitoring, and support of a platform or application to deliver business value. Helps set up system users through role-based authorization. Builds subject matter knowledge for a domain or capability area or single application. Adheres to team/application standards where applicable.Contributes to and helps refine the team's backlog. Applies knowledge to partner with teammates and the Product Owner to break down work into reasonable sizes that can be accomplished in a single iteration. Ensures stories have clearly understood value and defined acceptance criteria. Helps inform delivery estimates (story points) and prioritization. Identifies dependencies and influences the product roadmap.Participates in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-up, backlog refinement, planning, review/demo, and retrospectives. Helps drive collaboration within the team through participation in practices such as pair programming with peer Software Engineers.Seeks to understand application architecture for the squad's limited area of responsibility.Ensures new features and functions are tested thoroughly. Leverages automation to accomplish repeatable tasks where possible and appropriate. Troubleshoots and fixes bugs where applicable.Monitors and observes health, availability, and performance of software in production to provide appropriate application support. Helps implement new monitoring and proactive alerting mechanisms to inform the squad of issues before problems reach consumers/stakeholders.Starts building skills to navigate application data programmatically (such as via SQL or scripting languages).Performs other duties as assigned.Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires 2-4 years of professional experience, and general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.
