Job Category: NES Job GroupJob Description:Responsible for preparing the bank's standalone and consolidated financial statements, including those of its subsidiaries, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements. The role involves hands-on tasks such as preparing disclosures, resolving audit queries, and collaborating with internal units to gather and validate data for financial reporting.

Responsibilities:1. Preparation of Financial Statements:
  • Prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements for the bank and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Review trial balances, perform adjustments, and prepare reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial reports.
  • Draft and finalize the financial statements, including the accompanying notes and disclosures.
2. Coordination with External Auditors:
  • Serve as the point of contact for external auditors during interim and annual audits for any financial statements related aspect
  • Provide audit schedules, supporting documents, and explanations for financial statement line items.
  • Address audit findings and implement necessary adjustments promptly.
3. Data Gathering and Disclosures:
  • Collect and validate data from various departments (e.g., Treasury, Risk, Operations, and Legal) for inclusion in the financial statements.
  • Prepare detailed notes and disclosures in compliance with IFRS, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders and auditors into the financial reports.
4. Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
  • Ensure that all financial reports are prepared in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Assist in preparing submissions to regulatory authorities, including any mandatory filings or disclosures.
5. Process Enhancement:
  • Identify inefficiencies in financial reporting processes and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to the implementation of automation tools and standardized templates to streamline reporting.
6. Cross-Department Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with the Treasury and Risk teams for valuations, provisioning, and other critical inputs to the financial statements.
  • Coordinate with IT or systems teams for enhancements to reporting tools and systems.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or ACCA is required.
Experience:
  • 7 to 8 years of hands-on experience in financial reporting or auditing, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven ability to prepare financial statements under IFRS independently.
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing audit deliverables.
Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and its application in financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with banking-specific accounting issues such as financial instruments (IFRS 9), lease accounting (IFRS 16), and consolidations (IFRS 10).
  • Proficiency in financial reporting tools and core banking systems
