Position: Senior Lead Counsel - Distribution Business and Litigation Reporting into: Principal Legal Counsel - Distribution Business and Litigation Business/Function: Legal and S&P Location: Mumbai (Work from Office) Purpose/Overview of the role: Reporting to the Principal Legal Counsel- Distribution Business and Litigation, the incumbent will be responsible for providing legal and litigation-related support to the Distribution business at Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited). Key Result Areas: - Review, draft, and negotiate agreements such as Memorandum of Understanding, marketing, subscription, and channel placement agreements with different distribution platform operators. - Draft and send legal notices. - Assist in filing recovery proceedings and other cases before TDSAT, Magistrate's court, High Court, and Supreme Court. Review the draft petition and provide comments to lawyers for finalizing the petitions. - Brief the counsel on litigations filed by or against the company. - Coordinate with cross-department heads, sales/business, and commercial associates on various business issues. Advise them on the suitable course of action to be taken. - Proactively resolve legal issues and provide solutions to the Business/Sales team to avoid litigation. - Coordinate with the Sales and Operations team regarding the issuance of disconnection notices. - Review relevant Regulations and Tariff Orders applicable to the industry and ensure due compliance with all requirements. - File requisite information/data with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on a timely basis. - Interact with TRAI officials to resolve any issues raised by TRAI. - Review and comment on the Consultation Paper rolled out by TRAI on topics affecting the Broadcasting and Digital Media industry. Educational & Work Experiences / Key Requirements: Law Graduate. Master of Law (LL.M) would be preferred 12-15 years experience post qualification Should have worked in a mid to large-sized Corporate (Preferably Broadcasting & Distribution Company, Media/Telecom) or a Law Firm of repute having Telecom, Media/Broadcasting & Distribution companies as their clients.
