About our client:My client is an American multinational food manufacturing company headquartered in United States.Responsibilities:Litigation Management:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's litigation portfolio across the Asia, Middle East, and Africa region, working in close collaboration within market lawyers, advising on litigation strategy, collection of evidence and witness information to ensure the most successful outcomes or resolution of disputes via court, arbitration or mediation. Oversee and take lead direction to external counsel including assessing potential claims, developing litigation strategies, and overseeing the discovery and pleasing process.
  • Collaborate closely with external counsel in multiple jurisdictions to ensure effective representation in all legal proceedings, including court appearances, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Monitor and evaluate litigation trends and outcomes across the region to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation strategies.
Compliance Oversight:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs tailored to the regulatory requirements of each country within the region including FCPA, Code of ethics, anti-trust compliance and Anti-fraud.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits across multiple geographies to identify areas of potential non-compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with General Counsel and Internal Audit in review of audit reports and closure of any gaps which are identified in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees in diverse cultural and regulatory environments on compliance policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a culture of compliance throughout the
  • organization.
Employment Relations:
  • Advise HR and management on a wide range of employment-related matters spanning the region, including employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, terminations, and accommodations.
  • Conduct investigations into allegations of misconduct or policy violations across various cultural contexts and recommend appropriate courses of action based on applicable laws and company policies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in employment law across multiple jurisdictions within the region and proactively advise stakeholders on potential implications for the organization.
Policy Development and Training:
  • Develop, review, and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and cultural norms across the region.
  • Design and deliver training programs for employees and managers in diverse cultural settings on legal and compliance-related topics, including anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies to develop and implement policies that promote a respectful and inclusive work environment while minimizing legal risks.
Risk Management:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify legal and regulatory risks associated with the company's operations across the region and develop strategies to mitigate such risks.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on legal and compliance issues impacting business decisions and corporate strategy in diverse cultural and regulatory contexts.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards across multiple jurisdictions within the region and proactively advise stakeholders on potential implications for the organization.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and employees, across the region to provide timely legal advice and guidance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on legal and compliance matters, offering practical solutions and recommendations aligned with business objectives across diverse cultural and regulatory landscapes.
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and legal partners, across the region to stay informed about industry trends and regulatory

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar association.
  • 10-15 years of experience practicing law with a focus on litigation, compliance, and employment relations, preferably in a corporate or in-house legal environment, with demonstrable experience managing legal
  • matters across multiple jurisdictions within the Asia, Middle East, and Africa region.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to litigation, compliance, and employment law across various countries within the region.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage complex legal matters and develop innovative solutions to mitigate legal risks in diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including those from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to think strategically and problem-solve in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing external legal counsel across multiple geographies.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
