Responsible for systematically disassembling and analyzing hardware products to gain insights into their design, components, manufacturing processes, and cost structure. This analysis helps in understanding the product's strengths and weaknesses, identifying areas for improvement, and potentially uncovering cost-saving opportunities or intellectual property infringements.How you will do it
  • Disassembly and Analysis: Carefully disassembling electronic devices and hardware components to examine their internal structure, design, and materials.
  • Component Identification and Documentation: Identifying all components, including their specifications, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assessing the functionality and performance of the hardware components and the overall system.
  • Cost Analysis: Determining the cost of manufacturing the product, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Benchmarking: Comparing the analyzed product against competitors to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Identifying and analyzing hardware defects or failures and determining the root cause of the problem.
  • Documentation: Creating detailed documentation of the teardown process, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to share findings and implement improvements.
  • Stay Current with Technology: Keeping up to date with the latest hardware technologies and trends to inform the analysis process.
What we look for
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware analysis, teardown, and diagnostics
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, circuit design, PCB layout, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience in product teardown, mechanical inspection, or a high-performance R&D environment
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for hardware disassembly and analysis, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
  • Experience in Hardware design and testing.
  • Experience in product sustenance.
