This is a full-time, mid-level position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Indian cuisine, particularly expertise in tandoor cooking, and will be responsible for preparing our menu to the highest standards of taste and presentation. The Tandoor Chef will work in a fast-paced environment to deliver authentic and innovative dishes.Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven tandoor cooking expertise in a professional kitchen environment, including all associated techniques and recipes (Mandatory skill)
  • Extensive knowledge of clay oven maintenance practices to ensure peak performance and longevity (Mandatory skill)
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene standards to uphold our commitment to guest wellness (Mandatory skill)
  • Skilled in marination techniques that enhance flavor while preserving the quality and texture of ingredients
  • Experience in baking naan and other traditional breads with precise timing and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage temperature control effectively within the tandoor, safeguarding quality and achieving desired cooking results
  • Proficiency in grilling and roasting skills tailored to a variety of meats and vegetables
  • Excellent time management abilities, ensuring efficiency and stress management in high-pressure kitchen environments
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes from the tandoor menu, ensuring the highest quality standards
  • Maintain and clean tandoor ovens and tools, ensuring all equipment is safe and in excellent working condition
  • Work closely with the culinary team to plan and develop menu offerings in line with seasonal and guest preferences
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, maintaining a spotless and organized work area
  • Monitor inventory levels specific to tandoor-related ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary
  • Collaborate with the service staff to meet guest needs and enhance the overall dining experience
  • Actively participate in training juniors or cross-training peers in tandoor techniques
  • Contribute to minimizing waste and improving efficiency through innovative approaches and problem-solving
