- QA Strategy & Vision:
- Develop and execute a robust QA vision and strategy aligned with the organization's business goals and technological roadmap for Liabilities, Lending, CASA, TDS, and Loans applications.
- Define and implement scalable and efficient testing methodologies, processes, and standards across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) within an Agile/DevOps environment.
- Drive continuous improvement in QA practices, embracing industry best practices and emerging trends (e.g., AI-driven testing, shift-left, shift-right testing).
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, coach, and motivate a team of QA engineers and leads, fostering a high-performance culture focused on quality, innovation, and collaboration.
- Manage resource allocation, define team objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support the professional development of team members.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new QA talent.
- Domain Expertise & Test Assurance:
- Possess deep subject matter expertise in core banking modules, specifically:
- Liabilities: Detailed understanding of CASA (Current Account, Savings Account) product features, account opening, maintenance, closures, interest calculations, and transaction processing.
- Lending: Comprehensive knowledge of various loan products (Retail, Corporate, Agri, SME), loan origination, disbursement, repayment schedules, interest accruals, foreclosure, and collection processes.
- TDS: Expertise in TDS calculations, deductions, reporting, and compliance as per Indian regulatory guidelines.
- Integrations: Understanding of how these modules integrate with other banking systems (e.g., General Ledger, CRM).
- Oversee the creation and review of detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for complex banking scenarios, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance (e.g., RBI guidelines, KYC, AML, data privacy) throughout the testing process.
- Test Automation & Tools:
- Champion and drive test automation initiatives, including selecting appropriate automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, API testing tools like Postman/Rest Assured, database automation tools).
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and execution of automated test suites to enhance regression testing efficiency and accelerate release cycles.
- Explore and integrate advanced testing techniques such as performance testing, security testing, and data integrity testing for large-scale financial data.
- Quality Metrics & Reporting:
- Establish and track key quality metrics (e.g., defect leakage, test coverage, automation progress, release quality).
- Provide regular, insightful reports and dashboards on product quality, testing progress, and risks to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Conduct root cause analysis for critical defects and implement preventive measures.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a primary point of contact for quality-related discussions with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Development Leads, and Project Managers.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to embed quality throughout the development process (Shift-Left approach).
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support production deployments, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 4-6 years in a QA Management or Lead role within the Banking & Financial Services domain.
- Mandatory and extensive hands-on experience in testing core banking applications with deep expertise in:
- Liabilities (CASA - Current Accounts, Savings Accounts)
- Lending (Loans - Retail, Corporate, etc.)
- TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) calculations and reporting
- Proficiency in related banking processes (e.g., account opening, KYC, loan origination, disbursement, repayments).
- Proven experience in defining and implementing QA strategies, processes, and best practices in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong knowledge of test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM Octane, TestRail).
- Solid experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, API automation tools).
- Expertise in writing and executing complex SQL queries for database validation and data integrity checks.
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- ISTQB Advanced Level or Expert Level Certification.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of scripting/programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
- Understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native testing.
