This role focuses on foundational AI research in Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Multimodal Systems. You will contribute to Bosch's long-term AI strategy through scientific publications, prototype systems, and collaborations with academic and industrial leaders.As part of the Corporate Research division, this role is in applied research. The focus is on differentiating innovations in GenAI technologies, scalable model architectures, and strategic IP generation aligned with Bosch's future tech roadmap.Roles & Responsibilities:Conduct independent research in:Large-scale generative models (LLMs, diffusion models)Agentic AI systems (multi-agent reasoning, self-organizing agents)Multimodal models (vision-language, time-series transformers)Model compression, low-latency inference, and scaling lawsEvaluation and understanding of AI models and agent capabilitiesIdentify problems/gaps in applying existing technologies to Bosch specific use cases and engage stakeholders and leaders to address them.Initiate and lead research to develop technologies that drive greater efficiency in GenAI for both specialized and generalized applications.Lead experimentation on Bosch's on-prem HPC clusters and cloud-based GenAI stacks.Publish in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, ICML, CVPR).Mentor early-career researchers, interns, and cross-functional colleagues.Contribute to the design and evaluation of Bosch-internal LLM frameworks and AI agents.File strategic patents aligned with corporate research themes.Evaluate new paradigms like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), memory-augmented agents, and SLM-based deployments.QualificationsEducational qualification:Ph.D. in Computer Science / Machine Learning / AI or equivalentExperience:8+ years in GenAI/LLM/AI ResearchMandatory/requires Skills:Deep expertise in GenAIOpen-source and proprietary LLMs (LLaMA, Gemma, GPT, Claude, Mistral)Prompt engineering, LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT, RAGAgentic frameworks: AutoGen, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAITransformers, Reinforcement Learning, Mixture of Experts (MoE)Research mindset with hands-on skills in PyTorch, HuggingFace, PythonExperience in high-scale distributed training and evaluationProven publication record (NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, etc.)Understanding of safety, explainability, and evaluation in GenAIFamiliarity with vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone) and knowledge graphsPreferred Skills:Understanding of SLMs (Phi-3, BERT), efficient fine-tuning, and neural compressionStrategic thinking around GenAI lifecycle, LLMOps, and HMI integrationBasic exposure to Bosch application domains (mobility, manufacturing, IoT)Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with global teams
