- Lead and plan activities for configuration in collaboration with design.
- Ensure that a configuration management plan is established for actual product.
- Ensure that the unique product procedures / instructions in the configuration management area are established where necessary.
- Ability to create & manage configuration products, end items , configuration items/features in PLM or relevant tool.
- Is the point of contact in business related configuration management questions towards customers and authorities.
- Creates and release product structures in PLM & ERP, including applicable reports
- Review and release the validity of a design part in PLM.
- Create EDP (Engineering Data Package)
- Communicate approved product data to affected authority/disciplines/areas.
- Review design changes to ensure that the configuration related change impacts within the entire (aviation) system are clearly listed.
- Is part of Configuration Control Board (CCB) with written responsibilities according to GKN processes.
- Administrate the Configuration Control Board meetings (CCB) and closely monitoring the changes processed in CCB and getting it released in system on time.
- Work with improvements within change management and configuration control.
- Responsible for driving the changes from change proposal to change order completion.
- Coordinates that a created, approved and incorporated internal engineering change is documented properly in the change order.
- Monitor and request status information regarding the engineering change request at the customer/OEM/internal stakeholders.
- Make sure that received change documentation from the costumers is registered.
- Monitor the incorporation on the hardware and in technical documentation
- Completes the change order and make sure it is sent to the archive.
- Responsible for quality and on-time delivery of the tasks being performed.
- Must possess a high level of engineering functional knowledge (typically Technical Excellence Framework level 4 or higher in the appropriate Area of Expertise) with considerable experience of working/interfacing with other Engineering & Manf. Eng. disciplines (including customers and suppliers) in order to successfully execute and verify the project team(s) objectives.
- Must possess a level of technical expertise especially in the Aerospace industry and in the functional area the project/programme is responsible for (eg. Design, Analysis, EWIS, etc.)
- Must possess a high level of technical problem solving skills.
- Holds relevant technical qualifications (Bachelor, Master or equivalent) or a relevant level of experience to perform product configuration management activities
- 3 - 5 years (indicative) of relevant experience gained within an engineering discipline, ideally within an aerospace environment
- Good understanding of product configuration management process & its techniques
- Exposure to configuration standards EIA649/ISO10007 or relevant standard
- Good understanding of Windchill PLM and its processes
- Good understanding of SAP ERP system - PHP, DMS, IPPE, Material master and change management transactions.
- Exposure in handling models in CATIA will be an added advantage
- Basic understanding in excel macros/python automations
- Able to promote Lean Principles including leading a Continuous Improvement Project (“CIP”) within a workpackage.
