As a PLC Software Engineer, you will be responsible to design, develop, and maintain programmable logic
controller (PLC) systems for industrial automation under Charging and Power Transfer product line. The ideal
candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC programming, system integration, and troubleshooting in
manufacturing or industrial environments.. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless
integration into every phase of the software development lifecycle.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Work Closely with electrical engineers, Mechanical engineers and operations team
2. Shall have very good hands-on experience with PLC programming, system integration, and troubleshooting in
manufacturing or industrial environments.
3. Analyze automation requirements and design PLC programs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function
Block Diagrams
4. Create and maintain documentation including the schematics, ϐlowcharts and program logics
5. Conduct system level testing and validation to ensure functionality and reliability
6. Install and commission PLC system on-site, ensuring seamless integration with other automation components.
Qualification and Essential Requirement:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in E&C/Electrical with Overall Working experience of 12+ Years of PLC
Programming
Handon Experience with Major PLC Platforms (Siemens, ABB, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradely) and IDE’s
Technical ability to interpret Electrical and mechanical schematics.
Familiarity with HMI/SCAD systems and industrial communication protocols(Modbus,Profibus,Ethernet,RS485
etc.)
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Desired Requirements:
Working Experience with Charging and Power Solutions is plus
Understanding the Security concepts and Configuration on the PLC’s AC Drive
German Communication skills
Work Model:
Primarily ofϐice-based (5 Days a week) with ϐield visits for installation and troubleshooting at Wabtec/customer
sites internationally.
May require travel to Commissioning site at Germany or Client facilities.
Reporting: Engineer Manager, Transit Software Team
Travel:
1. International- 50% Based on project need to commissioning/Customer site.
2. Shall hold valid passport and all relevant documents for international travels.
Physical Requirement:
Shall be able to be work at Wabtec Bengaluru facility and collaborate with global team members and customers.
