The Procurement Lead will oversee the end‑to‑end purchasing strategy, ensuring optimal supplier performance, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience. Role would be based out of Chennai (Sricity)Strategic & Operational Procurement· Develop and implement innovative, cost‑effective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.· Ensure purchasing activities support value creation, risk mitigation, and cost savings.· Manage direct and indirect procurement activities.Supplier & Vendor Management· Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key suppliers, especially in the steel industry.· Compare vendor proposals based on pricing, technical specifications, and quality.· Negotiate contracts and pricing to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.· Communicate consistently with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.· Oversee development and management of contracts and long‑term supplier agreements.Team Leadership & Collaboration· Lead and mentor a team of Buyers to ensure procurement goals are met.· Collaborate with senior management to support overall business strategy.· Drive transformational initiatives to enhance procurement capabilities and efficiency.Reporting & Compliance· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports.· Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Strategic purchasing and procurement systemsb. Contract management and supplier relationship managementc. Cost reduction and value‑improvement initiatives· Strong computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel and related procurement tools.· Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.· 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.The organization is an MNC which supplies equipment and Plants to their customers in the metals industry
