Key Responsibilities:
  • Individual Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students facing emotional, academic, or personal issues.
  • Group Sessions: Conduct workshops and group counseling sessions on stress management, exam anxiety, self-esteem, and other student-related issues.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and guidance in cases of crisis or emergency situations.
  • Assessments and Referrals: Conduct psychological assessments and, if necessary, refer students to external mental health professionals.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics: Maintain strict confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines in counseling.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, administration, and student support teams to create a supportive campus environment.
  • Awareness Programs: Organize awareness programs and campaigns to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of counseling sessions, progress, and reports for evaluation and follow-up.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Educational Requirement: Masters degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in student counseling or adolescent psychology is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of adolescent and young adult mental health issues.
  • Certifications: Certification from a recognized counseling body is preferred but not mandatory.
