Design Engineer ElectricalRole:The Design Engineer Electrical will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and technical oversight of all electrical systems required for a large public-space development. This includes power distribution, outdoor and pathway lighting, PUP infrastructure, electrical supply for public amenities, signage and wayfinding illumination, pumping systems, and integration of electrical utilities across the site. The role will involve reviewing, guiding, and overseeing the work of external MEP consultants who will prepare detailed designs, ensuring their solutions meet safety codes, energy-efficiency standards, resilience requirements, and long-term maintainability. The engineer will ensure that all electrical systemsincluding cabling, load management, panel locations, grounding, and lighting layoutsare well-designed, coordinated with civil and landscape works, and optimized for public safety, operational efficiency, and future expansion.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review electrical design drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, and panel board schedules.
  • Design and calculate power distribution, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm, public address, and ELV systems.
  • Conduct load estimation, cable sizing, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations using software or manual methods.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP teams, civil, and HVAC engineers for integrated design solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, IS standards, IEC, and NBC requirements.
  • Validate, oversee and manage MEP consultants to deliver electrical systems design
  • Review vendor drawings and equipment submittals for technical compliance.
  • Support the preparation of BOQ, technical specifications, and tender documents.
  • Lead design reviews, value engineering, and technical meetings.
  • Effectively communicate the rationale for electrical-related decisions with senior stakeholders.
  • Assist during installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure design intent is met.
  • Maintain proper documentation of drawings, calculations, and revisions as per QA/
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office etc
  • Understanding of ELV systems (CCTV, access control, data, and communication).
  • Knowledge of AI-based smart building systems, lighting control, or energy management.
  • Experience with green building / LEED / IGBC requirements.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection tools.
Education QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringLEED certification or other sustainability certifications.Experience Required10+ years of Experience in sustainable design and energy-efficient systems.Knowledge of building automation systems and smart building technologies.
