The role requires performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and assisting in the resolution of issues related to MEPF systems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient functioning of all critical systems. The individual will also take on hands-on responsibilities in carrying out maintenance activities and supporting system upgrades, repairs, and diagnostics.Responsibilities:Maintenance Scheduling & Planning:Collaborate with the Lead - MEPF in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules for MEPF systems to avoid system failures.Support the planning of system shutdowns or upgrades with an emphasis on minimizing operational disruption, especially during peak airport hours.Assist in coordinating with other teams to prioritize critical maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:Take a proactive role in troubleshooting routine MEPF system malfunctions and assist in identifying the root cause of issues.Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assist the Lead in resolving technical problems and ensuring prompt response to minimize system downtime.Provide input on long-term corrective solutions for recurring problems.Budgeting and Cost Control:Track maintenance costs and assist in ensuring that tasks are completed within the allocated budget.Identify and suggest opportunities to optimize resources and reduce maintenance costs while maintaining quality and safety standards.Safety Management:Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.Actively participate in safety briefings, training, and site inspections to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.Ensure that MEPF systems are compliant with safety and environmental regulations, including fire safety codes and electrical standards.Quality Control:Ensure that maintenance work is executed according to established quality standards and in compliance with relevant building codes and safety regulations.Assist in the implementation of quality control processes for all phases of MEPF system maintenance, ensuring minimal errors and efficient work execution.Report any deviations from quality standards and assist in corrective actions to maintain system integrity.Vendor and Contractor ManagementManage relationships with external contractors and vendors performing specialized MEPF work.Review contractor performance, ensuring quality work is delivered on time, and assist in resolving any issues related to vendor work or services.Team Support and Development:Provide support to junior engineers and technicians, ensuring clear communication of tasks and assisting with technical guidance.Assist in training and mentoring junior team members to improve their technical skills and efficiency in maintenance activities.Collaborate with the team to foster a positive working environment focused on achieving shared goals.Stakeholder Coordination:Coordinate with the Lead and other departments to ensure smooth communication regarding MEPF system updates, maintenance schedules, and system issues.Assist in communicating with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure alignment between MEPF systems and broader facility requirements.Help in resolving technical queries from stakeholders, ensuring that MEPF systems remain integrated into overall airport operations.Safety Protocols and Regulations:Ensure that all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards & regularly review safety protocols and update maintenance procedures as needed to align with best practices.Coordinate with safety officers to conduct safety audits of electrical and mechanical systems, addressing any issues identified during inspections & ensure that all maintenance personnel are trained on safety protocols and equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).Emergency Repairs and Incident Response:Respond promptly to electrical and mechanical system failures, performing emergency repairs to minimize operational disruptions & maintain a stock of critical spare parts and tools to enable rapid response to emergencies.Work with emergency response teams to assess the impact of system failures and implement corrective actions & document all incidents and repairs to support continuous improvement in emergency preparedness and response.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed records of all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repair logs, and system performance data & ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date to support regulatory compliance and audits.Generate reports on equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency to help optimize cargo handling processes, highlighting completed tasks, ongoing issues, and upcoming maintenance needs & use these reports to inform budget planning and resource allocation.Energy Management and Efficiency Optimization:Monitor energy consumption within the cargo terminal, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs & implement energy-saving measures, such as upgrading lighting systems or optimizing HVAC operations, to achieve sustainability goals.Collaborate with energy management teams to develop and implement strategies for reducing energy usage while maintaining operational effectiveness & track the impact of energy-saving initiatives and report on progress to support ongoing sustainability efforts.Key Stakeholders   • 5-7 years of experience in maintaining MEPF systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Previous experience in an airport, large commercial facilities, or industrial buildings is preferred.
  • Understanding of MEPF systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety) and their importance in large-scale facilities.
