  • The Storage Platforms team provides Storage and Backup services for the banks on-premise platforms and databases. The team supports Netapp NAS storage and IBM SAN technologies, as well as backup services using Commvault and Netbackup. These services provide storage and backup for ESX, pSeries and Solaris platforms, and also Oracle and SQL databases.
  • As a Backup Engineer, you will be responsible for the support and management of the Banks on-premise backup technologies currently transitioning from Netbackup to Commvault backup systems.
  • You will be responsible for delivering a resilient and highly available environment, which adheres to the banks Compliance Framework, Risk Policies, and technical strategy. You will manage change, incidents and problems, and vulnerabilities.
  • You will identify and effectively manage risk on backup platforms, to ensure the risk profile remains as low as reasonably practicable. You will ensure Backup Platforms delivers exceptional outcomes for the Banks customers.
  • Deliver value to the banks customers through secure and available system. Work with key stakeholders to ensure systems comply with compliance framework and risk policy requirements.
  • Drive simplification and hyper-standardisation with a view to lowering management costs and improving consolidation
  • Ensure high quality change management for storage infrastructure changes
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • 8+ years experience managing Backup technologies using Netbackup and/or Commvault.
  • Experience working in complex technology environments
  • Experience with cloud based applications
  • Ability to provide technical consultation in area of expertise
  • Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting & documentation skills
