Position Overview The Chemical Process Engineer for Washer will ensure optimum operation of Washer, UVBRC, waste water plant and ancillary equipment and associated conveying system in can making line. This role will be responsible for daily operation, process and maintenance issues of washer, UVBRC, waste water treatment plant and ancillary equipment and take corrective actions on time. Chemical Process Engineer will plan the resources and allocate them to focus on Periodic inspection and maintenance, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities in his area and act as a link between Shift Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Quality team, Maintenance Engineers, Electrical engineers, spare parts stores and co-ordinate all the activities of Maintenance, improvements, TPM, 5's activities in the area. Key Responsibilities Include Planning of and execution of preventive Maintenance activities washer, UVBRC and Utilities, tracking the maintenance compliance on periodical basis and taking corrective actions to bridge the gap Ensuring washer, UVBRC and Utilities Equipment are operated and maintained in optimum condition, making action plan / corrective plan and getting the equipment back in optimum operating conditions Checking the daily operations log book and daily maintenance compliance Responsible for washer chemical consumption, soluble oil and water consumption in the washer and ancillaries Checking and controlling critical process parameters / indicators in washers, and taking timely actions to highlight and correct it Responsible for corrective preventive and predictive Maintenance on washers / Utilities Equipment and getting the equipment back in operation with least possible downtime Planning for spare parts, studying the spare parts needed for the equipment forehand and giving input to Maintenance Supervisor / spare parts stores engineer to set minimum or maximum of spare parts used in the equipment Tracking and controlling the consumable items consumption (such as filters, oils etc.) Participating in companies Continuous Improvement initiatives e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SMED, 5 S, ISO, etc. and conducting lean manufacturing activities and participating in audits as per company requirements Preparing CAPA for any incidents or breakdowns and implementing corrective and preventive actions Experience And Skills Required Diploma in Chemical engineering Job related experience for minimum of 6 years in operation or maintenance experience in medium scale chemical plants dealing with acidic chemical process with heat exchangers, pumps, stainless steel piping's etc. Hands on experience in operation and maintenance of chemical handling equipment Experience in Water treatment: DI, RO, and waste water treatment and experience in chemical labs for testing the quality / parameter for water / chemical contents - fluorides, acids, turbidity etc. Computer literacy and the ability to generate reports Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices with hazardous and toxic chemicals Fluent in English and local languages Ball Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
